Dr Alireza Moghadam
MD MS FRACS - Specialist Surgeon in Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology
Dr Ali Moghadam is a highly regarded specialist surgeon with expertise in Endocrine Surgery
and Surgical Oncology. He operates at Westmead Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, and
Sydney Adventist Hospital (the SAN), and holds a position as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the
University of Sydney.
Dr Ali completed his surgical training across several major teaching hospitals. He was
awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General
Surgery. Driven by a commitment to advanced surgical practice, he undertook three
consecutive years of post-fellowship training. He completed a fellowship in Trauma surgery,
followed by a fellowship in Surgical Oncology including Melanoma, Sarcoma and surgery for
advanced skin cancers at Westmead Hospital. He completed further subspecialty training in
Endocrine and Head & Neck Surgery at Liverpool Hospital, deepening his expertise in
managing complex endocrine and head & neck cancers.
He maintains professional affiliations with several key surgical and cancer societies,
including the Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES), ANZ Head and Neck
Cancer Society (ANZHNCS), American Thyroid Association (ATA), Australia and New Zealand
Sarcoma Association (ANZSA), Australian and New Zealand Association for the Surgery of
Trauma (ANZAST), Chest Wall Injury Society (CWIS), and General Surgeons Australia (GSA).
